Wait! Don't Press That "Not Interested" Button!

How often do you receive an InMail from a recruiter and think, "I'm not open to new positions, I'll just click "Not interested" or "Decline message"? Here is why accepting those InMails and connection requests will set you (and your colleagues) up for future success!
Year after year we find ourselves in different stages of our lives. By clicking, "No thanks" or declining messages, you are most likely unable to receive notifications about future opportunities from your recruiter! A great way to hear about future positions (should anything change down the line) would be to kindly share that you're happy where you're at and to please keep you in mind for future blank opportunities. It's a small Epic world and we all want to be able to help each other! Perhaps one of your former colleagues may be itching for a new position and would be excited to hear more.
Below are two quick tips on getting the most out of your recruiter network!
Decide what you want! Know exactly where you'd be willing to relocate to or contract in, what type of Epic positions you'd be looking to get into and any other non-negotiables you'd need and be sure to share these with your recruiter.
When you accept an in mail or connection request take the extra minute to let your recruiter know exactly what you would like to be contacted about in the future (because they will reach out to you when they come across their desk)!
By opening up communication you are able to see where the market is trending in your specified modules, keep your colleagues informed on current opportunities as well as stay notified and up-to-date on your future dream role!
